Kamesh leads Graphene, Innoventure and Innovation function at Tata Steel’s New material business. Responsible for developing first-of-kind Material deep technology ecosystem through Innoventure, lead the Innovation vertical and help scale up Graphene business.  

In the previous assignment, within Tata group lead the Strategic Collaborations at Tata Sons – Technology & innovation office, delivering new technology programs, creating technology ecosystem with Indian industry, start-ups, research labs, global players to nurture high impact programs and innovation.

Have held number of executive positions over 3-decade stint with Tata group including as a Chief Operating Officer of Tata’s Aerospace & Defence Start-up Company – Tata Industrial Services, Vice President – Policy advocacy at Tata Services New Delhi, Chief of Sales & Exports, Chief of Supply chain, Marketing & Customer support at Tata Hitachi; a subsidiary of Tata Motors Ltd.   

Kamesh has multi-sectoral global exposure across Strategy and Business development, Operations, Exports, Strategic Sourcing, New Product Development, Strategic Global Collaborations, Start-up’s, Technology Collaborations, Technology, and Innovation Management. Have established and managed business across geographies and created high impact strategic business opportunities in Aerospace & Defence, Industrial and Automotive Sectors, Public Affairs (Policy & diplomacy) for both business & societal causes. 

While as the Chief Operating Officer of group’s Aerospace & Defence start-up, established unique business model delivering offset & supply solutions to global majors. Aggregated India Inc.’s capability & global competencies to create unique technology solutions. Created competency development program for State Govt. for youths to be A&D industry ready. 

Member of CII National Technology Committee, ACME Defence Committee, CAUX-Initiatives of Change Foundation promoting ethical leadership. Supporting WBCSD (World Business Council for Sustained Development) water initiative, UK Innovation club to name a few. Held position of Co-Chairman ASSOCHAM Aerospace & Defence committee.

A Mechanical Engineer with Management Education Program from Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, Oxford Chevening Fellow and selected for Carnegie Mellon Fulbright scholarship (2005).
